Believers Parish Celebrates 20 Years Of God’s Faithfulness
The 20th anniversary of RCCG Believers Parish was celebrated in grand style. The church clocked 20 years on the 29th of September 2019 and October was the month of festivities. There were two “Night of Wonders” and God’s glory was manifested through His sons Pastor Lanre Akinyo and Pastor Steve Okundalaye. The Pastor In Charge, Pastor David Abodunrin declared a 20 days fasting and prayer from 6th to 25th October. The church met daily at different times to pray. Each prayer session was anchored by different ministers of God.
Part of the activities to mark the 20th anniversary of RCCG Believers Parish was the 20hrs non-stop praise which began on the 25th of October at 6pm. It was to thank God for the past 20 years and also bring to an end the 20 days prayer and fasting. The 20 hours non-stop praise was an atmosphere of intense worship and thanksgiving. Never before seen dance steps graced the auditorium as guest artistes like Solomon Owolabi, Emmy Sax, Holumighty, Solagbade, Olanrewaju Okuneye, Glory Wilson, Ice praise and several zonal choirs led the church in praise sessions.
It was brought to a close on Saturday by 2pm by Chioma Jesus’s ministration and people testified that indeed they had been “Chiomalized”.
RCCG Believers Parish natural groups like the Good women Choir, Mighty Men, Impeccable teens, Dynamic youths and the elders were not left out as they also ministered at the event.
Sunday, 27th October was the grand finale. Well-wishers came from far and near to celebrate with RCCG Believers Parish members. There was a sea of yellow and green colourful attire from the good women. Many were decked in their Sunday best as they prepared to offer praises to God for the past 20 years.
Activities like evangelism, free medical check-ups and distribution of welfare packages began in earnest.
At 12 noon, the thanksgiving service started with BeeJay Sax leading the worship and praise session. After which the opening prayers were said by Mummy Abodunrin. Invited guests like Pastor Charles Kpandei, Pastor Peter Akalamudo, Pastor Lanre Akinyo, Pastor Biyi Famoyegun to mention a few, were acknowledged.
Mummy Femi Abugo, the resident pastor shared the testimony of Believers parish of how God built this glorious church from a makeshift tent, the several babies that have been born, the marriages; and Believers Parish having birthed other parishes in Nigeria and countries like Turkey and South Africa. She also spoke on the Christian Social Responsibilities of the church like BY4C (Believers Youth For Christ) to develop the people in Ajah, the BEC (Believers Educational Centre) to help children prepare for JAMB, GCE and the BES (Believers Empowerment Scheme) to support business people. The good women ministered next and got the church on their feet dancing for joy.
There was a powerful message by Pastor Peter Akalamodu titled, “Higher Dimensions of Glory”. He explained that glory cannot be built on any other foundation except the one Christ has laid, which is righteousness and charged the congregation to protect their salvation to ensure their glory is intact.
Pastor David Abodunrin anchored the presentation of awards to people who have distinguished themselves faithfully in service to God and the church. After which Pastor Charles Kpandei gave congratulatory messages, fatherly blessings and challenged people to be a part of the 100-million-naira fund collection meant for Believers Teens and Children Development Centre (BTCDC).
The vote of thanks was said, and service was brought to a close by Pastor Biyi Famoyegun.
Some members of Believers Parish had this to say on the occasion of her anniversary.
Elder Magaret Fatoki : More grace to the leaders and more togetherness. The church would grow more in strength and we will have more members.
Deacon Joseph Onyewuchi: I wish Believers Parish a happy anniversary and many happy returns. May Believers parish be a solution ground and a citadel of signs and wonders.
Bro Joshua Abana: I wish everybody comfort and more of God. I wish people would recognize this place and more people would turn out.
Bro Muritala Bello: We are going higher. We will have testimonies of great things. I pray for Pastor David that God will continually give him wisdom and strength he needs to carry such a great work God has placed on him.
Happy 20th anniversary to you all and Long live Believers Parish!!!
