Can You Climb A Tree?
Beloved, Happy and Blessed people, Happy November.
The year 2021 is fast coming to an end. We have barely 60 days to go. For some, it has been a fulfilling year where much has been achieved, while for some, expectations are yet to manifest. Some are still in the same spot or worse off than they were at the beginning of 2021.
Many are waiting for November, the 11th Month or 11th hour “miracle” but the question is what is being done to get this miracle or what are we willing to do to get it? Let’s take a look at the life story of Zaccheus in Luke 19vs 1-10
Zaccheaus was a rich tax collector, believed by many to be a sinner and cheat. He was hated by so many. In todays world, many would regard him as “short devil”. The Bible says he was a short man.
Until one day, he heard that Jesus had come to Jericho and was passing by. What motivated Zaccheaus to climb a tree to see Jesus? At some point in his life, he must have realised that there is a void, that something significant is greatly missing despite his wealth. On that day Jesus was passing by, He would have been about his business, collecting his tax and oppressing people, but he chose instead to climb a tree.
He realised in order to get what he wanted, he had to do SOMETHING out of the ordinary. Zaccheaus got his miracle by going the extra mile. He didn’t sit down and think of his shortness or sinful state. He did SOMETHING.
And Jesus honoured his hunger and faith in Luke 19 vs 5
“When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.”
Zaccheaus’s act opened the door for his salvation and his household. So I ask again, while you expect the miracle you seek, CAN YOU DO SOMETHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY? CAN YOU CARE LESS ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE MIGHT THINK OF YOUR FAITH? CAN YOU DAMN THE CONSEQUENCES? CAN YOU CLIMB A TREE?
